Fortunately, I learned early on (and followed my own instincts) to always look for the reasons behind behaviors, and not assume my child is just "bad". Dr. William Sears' Baby Book really emphasized that if kids feel right, they will behave right (and vice versa) and I have found that to be most helpful.
