The "Stepwise Integration" Method for Fine Motor Skills Deficits

“I need some advice on how to help my daughter with high functioning autism to dress herself. She is 6-years-old, and I still have to help her with the buttons on her sweater, tying shoes, etc. I would have thought she could be doing this on her own by now. Does anyone else have this problem?” Stepwise integration is a good strategy to use in these circumstances.
