How to Respond to a Frustrated Autistic Child

“Any advice for helping my child (high functioning) to manage frustration over seemingly small things? Even something as minor as losing a game of checkers turns into a major riot, which in turn aggravates me to no end.”

  1. Due to frustration, there might be a tantrum or sensory meltdown. It is very difficult to control the excessive tantrum and sensory meltdown. When a child can not handle too many information which are flooded in his/her brain, then there is a meltdown. Frustration, excessive tantrum, and sensory meltdown are very common to the autistic individuals.

    I am a father of a 21 years old autism boy. I have been handling those every now and then.
