Last night at dinner he was upset with a joke I had made,( I have four children and joked that I was going to throw a party when they return from winter break) told me I hated him and after trying to tell him over and over it was a joke, he said he wished he had scissors to kill himself. I spoke to him afterwards and explained again that it was a joke and how super special all my kids are to me. He doesn't understand play fighting, or when me and my hubby tease each other, he has threathned bodily harm to me for play fighting with the other kids and my hubby. I understand that these things are hard for him, but I don't think we should eliminate jokes, or he will never understand.
